Family Unity
United States immigration laws grants immigration benefits based upon certain family relations. The law favors the fiancé/financee, spouses, children, parents and siblings of current United States citizens and residents and allows those relationships to serve as the basis for temporary and permanent entry to the United States.

The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) controls immigration based on family relationship. The INA uses its broad Immediate Relative or Family Based Preference categories to establish the requirements for family based immigration.
